المستخلص [English] Abstract: |
Objectives 1. Identifying the preventive procedures that spouses should take before and after marriage to protect the health of the Muslim family. 2. Motivating the Islamic Law (Sharia) to consider the modern preventive procedures related to family health and the need to benefit from the discoveries of modern science consistent with the Islamic Law ( Sharia). Methodology First: Consistent perspectives of the scholars are classified together. Also, the consistent views concerning the same issue are discussed together with their reliable evidences and preferences. Second: Quranic verses are written between parenthesis with reference to the sura and verse indicating their significance. Third: Hadiths are quoted from Al-Sihah’s books as well as the other reference books. Fourth: Terms and words, requiring linguistic; jurisprudent or medical clarification, are defined. Fifth: The research ends with a conclusion showing the most important results. Sixth: The research involves indices and a reference list to provide the optimal benefit. Organization The research comprises an introduction, a preface, two chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction involves significance of the study, justification, review of the literature, and methodology. The preface addresses definitions of the terms, such as prevention; cure; as well as infectious and genetic diseases. Chapter one is entitled the preventive measures to protect the spouses from infectious and genetic diseases. Chapter two is entitled the preventive and curative measures to protect the offspring from infectious and genetic diseases. The conclusion involves the most important results. Results 1. The pre-marital examination is one of the preventive and curative measures to protect the spouses from infectious and genetic diseases. 2. Contraception is a preventive measure to protect the offspring from infectious and genetic diseases. Methods of temporary contraception, such as male condom and intrauterine device, are legal considering the spouses’ consent. However, permanent contraception, adopting castration and vasectomy, is illegal. 3. Gene therapy, which plays a substantial role in the early detection of genetic diseases and their treatment methods, is also a preventive and curative measure to protect the offspring from infectious and genetic diseases. 4- Fetal sex determination is a curative measure to protect the offspring from diseases. It has a major role in avoiding the risks and genetic diseases associated with a specific sex. This is an Authentic Translation.
